pilotdave 0 #26 March 25, 2008 In some of the videos of the pink skyvan, you can see that one of the props is feathered and windmilling slowly (as a jumper climbs out onto the wing). The other prop is clearly at a different (lower) pitch, indicating that one engine is shut down and the other is running. Dave
jakee 1,564 #27 March 25, 2008 QuoteWere it shutter stutter (effects) then you'd see both propellers appearing to be in perfect sync, Only if the props are rotating at the exact same RPM.Do you want to have an ideagasm?

feuergnom 29 #32 March 26, 2008 no, that doesn't make it ok - but you've always got the choice: you like it - you jump there. You don't like it - go some place else. skyblu3 0 #34 March 26, 2008 sliding off the side into a prop is one possibility however there are many more things that could go wrong here. A tail strike for example can easily happen. In the video you see a guy sliding right off the back of the plane. He could easily have damaged the flaps which I believe are right there. Having one guy do it for a stunt or publicity is one thing (i've seen some very nice pics of Felix Baumgartner sitting on the roof of the Pink Skyvan) but having the whole load up there is STUPID. All I had to do was take out my blackberry and look at the Skyvan exit picture on its background. It has a big rudder or elevator flap spanning the length of its tail above the door. This is what he is referring to. edit: pic attached"Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
DSE 5 #43 March 26, 2008 No. Motion blur and cadence would appear differently at an identical shutterspeed and framerate. The two go hand in hand. Then again, most people aren't able to comprehend the difference between 30p and 60i, either, particularly when shot at high shutterspeeds, which this likely was (appears to be).
