immi 0 #1 March 27, 2008 hey, I am going to make my first skydive jump soon, well there is still a little problem: I am on an Exchange to the US (from Germany) my dad over there is now suddenly scared about me. He wants me to have an insurance for the case I would for example break my angle while landing. the Insurance I have does not cover extrem events like skydiving. my question is, does anyone knows a company where I can insure my self for this one jump? AggieDave 6 #2 March 27, 2008 You'll need to sit down with an agent in your area that is licensed for the state you're in. Some insurance agencies will underwrite your health or disability for skydiving and some won't. There are also some forms of traveler's insurance that I know some people get when they travel outside of their country that covers unusual events. You might have your dad check on that back in Germany.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
ltdiver 3 #3 March 27, 2008 Plus she's 17 years old, so an insurance agent just might have a challenge with this as well. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

I -did- look at your profile and thought I had it right...As for an insurance to cover a minor, in a foreign country, without his parent's physical presence, doing an extreme sport... Haven't heard of any. Sorry. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
skytash 0 #6 March 27, 2008 From memory, my travel insurance which I bought from the local Sparkasse in Germany covered skydiving abroad, so there may be something you dad can buy in Germany rather than having to get something in the US. tashDon't ever save anything for a special occasion.
