AggieDave 6 #2 April 28, 2008 Are you asking if you can reuse a main canopy once you cut it away? Yes, you can. You just have to track it down from where you chopped it at. Another reason why being a good spotter is a good skill to have. This can be further explained and shown to you by the instructors and riggers at your DZ. Those answers are typically better then faceless advice given to you on the internet by someone who is unknown to you.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." JohnRich 4 #3 April 28, 2008 Your question does not make sense. A cactus is a thorny desert plant. A parachute is never a cactus, whether it's been cut-away or not.
Stuntbabex 0 #4 April 28, 2008 To answer your question... yes. Yes the main chute turns into a cactus during a malfunction which is why you need to cut it away before deploying the reserve. ..or it will cut you.

csc 0 #9 April 30, 2008 QuoteQuotei no what a cactus is..........its a term used in english .......discribing something that can no longer be used.... In Australia, this is true I think 100% correct... other common local Aussie slang meanings for something that isn't right or of no use: rat shit or r/s buggered knackered rooted plus some colourful swearing i won't post. So to our non speaking fluent englsih friends when you come to an OZ DZ and mess up something or something isn't working just say "it's rat shit" or it's knackered etc etc.... After five minutes here you will catch on pretty damm quick anyway.. I'm cactus, catch ya later..
