BillyVance 35 #27 June 3, 2008 Quote Quote Quote Either way, I'm not going to crash into someone just to prove a point. Exactly why I'll land a little further back. Let someone else deal with avoidance issues at 50 feet. And that's great. But, also worth building up the skills so that if one day you are 50 feet up and heading straight for someone on the ground you will be able to avoid them. I've had situations in crowded skies where I didn't have much wiggle room coming down and there were people on the ground, and I wasn't even close to the beer line. Anytime I got in a place where I felt someone might cross my path when I'm low enough that any turn will biff me in, I yell "INCOMING!!!" They freeze and look up. It works! But only if they can hear! itllclear 1 #28 June 3, 2008 Quote What's so freaking important about landing near the damn beer line?! The coroner's van doesn't have to risk getting stuck by driving across the grass. I'm glad to see some others share my point of view. BSBD"Harry, why did you land all the way out there? Nobody else landed out there." "Your statement answered your question."
