jamiem 1 #1 June 13, 2008 So I just bought my first rig and my rigger did a repack and altered a few things for me. Aside from the fee I owe him, is it normal to tip him or give him something as a thanks? I have no idea what is the common practice. "I'm leaving for Florida tomorrow and I need a repack!"If he did extra things and didn't charge you for each stitch or rubber band than you might feel grateful. If he charged fairly for each service then I think your good to go. But, if you use it you do OWE the rigger a bottle of his preferred libation. At one point I had so much booze I asked for food. I used to buy him dinner when we went out. Nothing is expected unless there's a save, in which case a bottle of something nice is traditional. Since we're in the editing/correcting mode... Given the amount of time it takes the rigger to pack up a reserve or assemble a rig I'd have to say it's not done for the money. On a per hourly basis it's pretty bad so just a good heartfelt thanks goes a long way. Other than that a cold brewski or even a jump ticket... -Michael
 ltdiver 3 #10 June 13, 2008 Quote Thank you sweetheart. That is until they needed their reserve. It would usually take me a minimum of 2.5 hours to do a repack. And yes I am anal. Congrats on the new rig Girly...FYI: If you took it to Pete, he doesn't drink alcohol, unless it a VERY special occasion. (thats if you have to use your reserve) Cash tips, say $20, work great if you feeling generous and thankful for the work he did for you on top of the repack.www.WestCoastWingsuits.com www.PrecisionSkydiving.com
 VectorBoy 0 #14 June 14, 2008 FYI: If you took it to Pete, he doesn't drink alcohol, unless it a VERY special occasion. So bring him a pound of some premium blend and he tells me he didn't have a coffee machine. He just wanted me to get him some of the good stuff from that gas station over there.
