keithbar 1 #1 July 6, 2008 I had a line over a couple of weeks ago. but I fixed it. does that count as an incident? it opened up spinning to the right a couple of cells collapsed. i popped the brakes, pumped them, buryed the left one down to slow the spin to the right and started pulling the right. one down and letting it go to fire back up and banging on lines. took about 5 secound but to fixed it it's on video. all my woofo buddies keep saying wearn't you scared? I'm hell know I was to busy to be scared. I knew it had about 7 seconds and it would have been gone. so I had two to spare. hei have on occasion been accused of pulling low . My response. Naw I wasn't low I'm just such a big guy I look closer than I really am .

Squeak 17 #3 July 6, 2008 QuoteI had a line over a couple of weeks ago. but I fixed it. does that count as an incident? To me yes it is. But i think you need to be hurt or killed to warrant mention in the"Incident" Forum. An incident (to me) is anything from the norm that can be dangerous, which we can learn from. Do you know how you managed to pack a line over? Did you pack your kit or a packer? Was it your standard kit? What height was it cleared by?You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! How's yours doing? riggerpaul 1 #5 July 6, 2008 a line over can do a surprising amount of damage to a canopy. Or it can do little or no damage. Be sure to thoroughly inspect your canopy, especially the top skin. Maybe you want to have your rigger involved.
hacker44240 0 #6 July 8, 2008 It's amazing that you fixed it. I had a similar line over malfunction. I made the mistake of releasing the brakes thinking maybe I could fix it, and it went right into a violent spin. At that point I just cut away. I did have some minor line burns on the top skin. I'd love to see that video.
Nightingale 0 #7 July 8, 2008 I second the "Check your canopy" idea. Get your rigger to inspect your canopy for damage caused by the line sliding around on top. I saw one of those out at Perris a few years back, and it looked like parts of the ZP had almost melted.

mjosparky 4 #9 July 8, 2008 There is no such thing as a “minor” malfunction. If you believe there is your belief just might get you killed. SparkyMy idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
