kallend 2,146 #1 July 18, 2008 Is this run by the wonderful, ethical Skyride folks? www.wfsb.com/iteam/16901987/detail.html... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

DougH 270 #6 July 18, 2008 I am going to be contacting the attorney generals office on Monday. It sounds like they are going to investigate. I do know they filed charges against an out of state locksmith service earlier this year for falsely advertising their location in CT."The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P
jman 0 #7 July 19, 2008 DougH I saw kallends post & I also live in CT. I was able to contact Susan through email. Dick Blumenthal saw the story on wfsb and is already contacting other attorney generals. If there is any info to support the case or anything that will help, I'm sure Susan will appreciate getting that info to Blumenthat's office. He's good at getting things done. Maybe he can help somehow.
jman 0 #8 July 19, 2008 DougH I talked to Susan on the phone. She got the website address, www.connecticutskydiving.com off of a van in the Hartford area. She would like people to report the van to the attorney general's office if it's spotted. She said that I could post her email address because she would appreciate any help that anyone could offer. I'm not sure if that's the best thing to do. Does anyone have any feedback on that note. She also said there is additional information on complaint.com regarding their(Thrillplanet,SkyRide, etc.) problems.
likearock 2 #9 July 19, 2008 If she paid by credit card, couldn't the CC company help her out there?
kelpdiver 2 #10 July 19, 2008 QuoteIf she paid by credit card, couldn't the CC company help her out there? I couldn't get a charge reserved where the fraud was pretty obvious. They're not very helpful, esp in cases where the scumbag is dealing in the grey area.
jman 0 #11 July 19, 2008 Yes her credit card company will help her out, but that's not the point. The point is she was scammed. She paid to skydive in CT and was then sent to Albany & would not be refunded her money. The dropzones that they send people to have no records of said customer because they do not do business with Thrillplanet, Skyride or any other name. In case you are unaware, they also sell hot air balloon rides, rock climbs, white water rafting, etc..
likearock 2 #12 July 19, 2008 QuoteYes her credit card company will help her out, but that's not the point. I understand that's not the point and by no means am I defending the fraudulent practice. I was just suggesting a way for her to recoup if she hadn't done so already.
Jumpdude 0 #13 July 19, 2008 Check this website out. sLyride is also selling gift certs. for race car driving as well as everything else. I called and they tried to tell me it was for the Richard Petty School. Well the problem with that is not only am I a skydiver, I also drive race cars, so i called Petty and as we all pretty well know, the Petty school don't take sLyride's crap, AND they routinely get calls from angry customers that have been told they will be driving racecars at the Petty School Those pictures are officailly licensed NASCAR pics, and they are not even from pics of Bristol Motor Speedway, and the picture just below the menu is Shelly Anderson, Top Fuel Drag racer. I used to race with her and her dad when we were running Top Alcohol Funny Cars. Check the webite. [url] http://bristolracingschool.com/stock-car-racing.htmlRefuse to Lose!!! jman 0 #15 July 20, 2008 Jumpdude, Stratostar I emailed Bristol Motor Speedway the link. They probably already know, but just in case they don't, or are unaware of how bad the sites reputation is as a ripoff.
Jumpdude 0 #16 July 20, 2008 Good idea, I'll do the same for the Nashville Superspeedway and Memphis. If you change the city name, you will see that they are running the same scam for Memphis, Nashville, and Daytona. I'm still looking for others, so "Stay Tuned", it's coming to a theater near you!Refuse to Lose!!!
