Need help planning local competition

Recommended Posts

My local DZ is only 1 year old. As an anniversary event, we are looking to plan some friendly competitions. I've checked out the USPA site. We plan to do 4-way scrambles, accuracy, and swooping. Anybody ever planned a small competition without all the official equipment & formalities? Suggestions for accuracy pad? General advice?

Classic Accuracy? Talk to the people up at Skydive Rick's in Ohio, they have all the gear. Unless everyone is already shooting classic accuracy and aiming for the 3cm target it might be better to look at the Sport accuracy requirements. Then all you need is a tape measure and a target. 4 way is easy since you can use the NSL draw for the A or AA class for that week.

here's a friendly comp idea i've been thinking about:
a Flop and Drop.

the experienced jumpers can have a Hog Flop competition.

and you can mow a target in the landing area and get the tandems and experinced jumpers, while under canopy, Dropping small sacks of flour for accuracy and/or points.

best of luck with your event!
