Favorite it was supposed to be story...

So I was talking about a skydive this past weekend, and someone mentioned that the best skydiving stories start with it was supposed to be...

I was relaxing for a little bit after I had finished packing my rig when I was asked, "Do you want to go up with us?"

So of course I said, "Whats the call?"

The call was basically a now call. I got geared up, and made my way to the plane. We were doing the same exit as the last jump from the 206, but planned an easier dive. Round to an open accordian back to round, what ever slot you pick up you pick up.

I asked, "What is the exit count?"

The front floater replied, "When I fall off the strut." With a little smile.

We al shoehorn into the 206, and try to get comfortable. I have another anvil sitting in my lap with his hackey digging into my leg as I try to get comfortable sitting next to the pilot.

We eventually got to jumprun. We asked for the green light a little early so we could have enough time to climb out. Well the front floater tried to finess his way onto the strut, but needless to say that didn't exactly happen. He fell off.

So rather than everyone just bail to try to catch him one guy trued to rear float the exit, and I am just trying to get the guy in front of me to dive. eventually we all empty the plane. well I couldn't find 3 of the people that were supposed to be on the dive.

We built a 3 way round. The coolest thing is though when me and another jumper were docking on each other she flew up to me, and then she just opened up her hand and gripped onto my finger tips. That felt like the awesomest thing in the world. Even though the original jump went to heck that was a wonderful moment. Then the third diver docked onto us, and we had our little 3 way round with a couple of grand before breakoff.

Now while we three were hooking up. One person gave up trying to get to the formation. I am not sure what happened to the other guy, but then our floater friend apparently had dislocated his right shoulder, and had worked it back into its socket before he hit 8,000 feet.

The way the do it in Texas, the story has to start with: "No shit, there I was, thought I was going to die..."

You guys are so civilized and polite.
