Depends on the dropzone. Going by the BSRs either could jump with him if the DZ approves the 2000 jump guy.

Thanks Spence. I know the BSRs, However I was referring specifically to the farm in my previous post.

I am pretty sure that any competent experienced jumper would be allowed to jump with a non-licenced jumper that has cleared AFF at The Farm.

Man, that is one hell of a qualifying statement.:)

> We need to abandon the coaches rating . . .

Why? If you want to get a coach rating, get a coach rating. You'll learn a lot. If you just want to jump with newbies, jump with newbies. Your choice.

(Note from the SIM: Student freefall training for group freefall jumps
must be conducted by either A USPA Coach under the supervision of a USPA Instructor or;
b. USPA D license holders provided there is a minimum
ratio of one D license holder to one student
with a maximum of a 4-way.)

>that is not the way it works at many DZs.

Hmm! Do they require that pre-A license jumpers jump only with coaches or instructors?

It doesn't come up too often at Perris, because the first place most new jumper go after they do a few solos are the load organizers - and they are professional organizers/coaches/AFF-I's. They will often do 2 or 3 ways with newer jumpers and "ease them in" to the bigger formations.

So the 110 jump wonder with the coach rating can take 9 newbies up to do a 10-way.

The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
