finch 0 #1 October 24, 2008 Today I was at the DZ taking my packing lessons and while I was there I went and talked to the owner of the pro shop about keeping an eye out for a used rig, somewhere in the 200 range. He said he didnt have anything in that size and it could be difficult to find one to fit me correctly. We talked about other options and I went back out to continue my lesson. Not 20 minutes layer he comes over to the tent and tells me that he just got in a Safire2 189. Infinity container,Rsl,cypress. In very good shape and 30 jumps on the main.It fit me just about perfect. Im hoping to own it in a few days after it gets inspected"Never go full retard"
c10edges 0 #2 October 24, 2008 both. It took me about 3 months to find a rig that would fit me, and had the things that i needed and/or wanted. You were very lucky to find a rig that suites you. You were ment for eachother

skybytch 273 #5 October 25, 2008 If you're really 230 pounds out the door like your profile indicates... good luck with that.
Gato 0 #6 October 25, 2008 I have to agree, even though I'm a noob, myself. I'm 230 lbs. out the door as well, and I'm flying a PD230 "closet classic" - maybe 20 jumps on it. I could have gone with something smaller, but I'm realizing that, compared to what I was flying as a student, this parachute is "high performance." Don't let someone talk you into a main and reserve you aren't ready for - waiting for the right rig is a lot safer. Your body will thank you. Keep lookin'!T.I.N.S.
