Baksteen 84 #51 November 14, 2008 Quote and the quality of you jm's expertiese ahs what to do with your ability to land a parachute?? Are you sure you are ready to be a skydiver. Just in case; that was NOT the intention of my post. I wasn't talking about the OP at all (and I think she got that). I'm convinced that there are sixteen year olds out there who can safely land a parachute - especially in those countries where said people-in-a-certain-age-catagory are allowed to drive, for F's sake. I merely found it strange that such a waiver does not exist for tandem jumps AS WELL. One can drive, but not ride shotgun? Quote Yeah there are a couple others posting in other forums with A license numbers in the hundreds of thousands too. Me, for instance. And the number is even real "That formation-stuff in freefall is just fun and games but with an open parachute it's starting to sound like, you know, an extreme sport." ~mom
PeregrineFalcon 0 #52 November 14, 2008 Quote Quote Well Im 16 years old and i'v been going to the Dz with my dad fopr a couple months now. I never thought about skydiving as a hobbie or even as a sport for that matter. But once i watched my dad jump It was something i've been Dying to do!! I've been going nuts aboutthis idea since last Christmas so my dad made a deal with me. I have to have a 3.7 GPA to jump....and i have to pay for my jumps. Well, i did a little math((and believe me , i hate math)) but i found that in order to have a 3.7 GPA id have to have straight As and a C in Chemistry.. Um yah... Never goin to happen!! So he was understanding and sain i could get a 3.5 and a C in chemistry. So im working Hard for the past 2 1/2 weeks and my grades have ALL come up but not to these standards.... Im not sure if ill ever get to jump....what should i do??? Or say??? If you write better I'm sure you'll grades will improve. ::sigh::

flyangel2 2 #55 November 14, 2008 QuoteHi and sorry i couldn't write you earlier... im not sure what time im sopposed to jump yet ..... but as soon as i know ill let you know...but im pretty sure it will be around 7-8 because thats always when they have my dad jump. I just got off the phone with Randy, and he said that your class is tonight and you jump on Sunday about noon. If nothing comes up at the clinic I work at, I'll try to make it out.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. - Edward Abbey
