kkeenan 14 #1 February 18, 2009 I just heard from a reliable source that the some Army folks will be performing a wingsuit jump this weekend from a C-17 at 35k ft. over Yuma AZ. It seems that the military is looking at this as a possible HALO insertion method. Any bets on how much distance they can cover ? Kevin K. p.s. If this info is SECRET, I don't remember where I heard it._____________________________________ Dude, you are so awesome... Can I be on your ash jump ? BillyVance 35 #2 February 18, 2009 I was trying to picture the image of a HALO soldier in full battle gear with what 70-100 lbs of equipment/weapons/etc strapped on, and trying to fly a wingsuit. Somehow I just fail to see how they will get very far on the track like that."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban

Depends on who it is I guess...And if the results are not brag-worthy, it will probably be just be empty claims and a big fake 'classified militairy info' stampBut sounds cool..JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? DSE 5 #5 February 18, 2009 If it's a secret, it's a badly-kept one. Been hearing of the big BB/SC jump for quite a while now. Too bad the average joe can't access this kind of equipment for a reasonable cost.
mccordia 74 #6 February 18, 2009 Would rock getting some of the good distance flyers a ticket on a load like this...set a real record distance.. With the lack of jumps from that altitude, most jumps done so far have been records in terms of time and distance from the moment the got on the plane..JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
