davidbean 0 #1 May 22, 2009 Hi, I booked my first tandem sky dive back in November. I showed up but the jump was cancelled due to high winds. I have had 6 months to re-book it, but i've totally gone off the idea. I can transfer the ticket to anyone else before 13th June if anyone is interested in buying this off me for £150? website is ukskydiving.com. if you cant make it before then, then there is a £25 fee. Let me know if you are interested. i'm gutted ive lost my bottle, but im to terrified! David

freeflysteve 0 #3 May 22, 2009 That sucks, it is not uncommon as skydiving is not for everyone. Before you finally decide not to jump go to the dropzone that you booked with to do the jump and spend a day there watching skydivers prepare to jump and watch them land especially the tandems. You i am sure will see lots of extremely happy faces full of elation at having jumped from a plane two and a half miles above the ground. BELIEVE ME i was scared on my first jump one thousand eight hundred jumps later i am still doing it!9jumping that is!),the scariest thing is thinking what i have spent!!! Blue skies SteveSwooping, huh? I love that stuff ... all the flashing lights and wailing sirens ... it's very exciting!

humbled1 0 #7 May 22, 2009 being scared and unsure is pretty common the first few jumps, tandem or AFF. At one point you had decided to jump or you would have never bought the ticket. Nothing in skydiving has changed, its no more dangerous than it was when you bought the ticket. Tandems are even safer than a solo jump, just do it. The only thing that has changed is in your head. I almost rode my first 10 jumps back down I was so scared, sometimes I WANTED it to be too windy to jump as I drove down to the DZ. The morning I showed up to do level 3 I changed my mind and told everyone I had to goto work but I just went to my buddy's house, I went back the next day and jumped. The point is you can walk through the fear that is gnawing at you. Once you land you will wonder what was so terrifying! Dude my 20 year old daughter has 2 tandems and 33 solo jumps under her belt, trust me you can do this!!!! Good luck, I know you will jump!! (or u never would have bought the ticket imo)!!"Tell ya the truth, I don't think this is a brains kind of operation."
