efex 0 #1 April 21, 2005 Hey, Does anyone know the best place to find a list of what basic instructor courses are running throughout the year and where? I had a look on the BPA website with little success. Safe swoops, Warwick University Skydiving Club

freekflyguy 0 #4 April 27, 2005 Before you do that have a chat with your CCI, and tell him you are interested in becoming an instructor. Without his recomendation you wont get on a course. Once he has agreed to let you train for your CSBI's Course prpare to miss out on some jumping. You will need to spend a fair ammount of time preparing for the course, this means sitting in on lessons and briefs when every one else is getting in the air. Once you have completed your CSBI Course be prepared to be the DZ CSBiatch. You should be prepeared to do as much work as the CCI wants you to do, teaching, dispatching, briefing etc. etc. Again you will be doing this when every one else is jumping. So why would anyone want to be an instructor??? Once you have dispatched the first student you trained from start to finish, once you have cleared your first student for free fall, when you award your first CAT VIII and if you are lucky enough award FS1 to a student who you have progressed through the Category System you will know. We teach 45 students every 2 weeks and the job satisfaction from the above never diminishes. Good luck bud. And tell "H" I said hi. BuzzIt's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
