JayCam 0 #76 June 11, 2005 Yeah its definately on the UK cirriculum but for some reason we skipped over it very breifly. I remember being asked to do one and it seemed half decent but that was all. I dont want to complain because my drop zone is really excelent in every other way, I have had amazing instruction on most other aspects of the sport (so far) and we have based our skydiving society (of the my university) there. But I WILL ask to be taught a proper PLF next time I am up there. J

BIGUN 1,445 #78 June 11, 2005 IMO - In My Opinion Here's a post under my old screenname of "nightjumps" http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=640825;search_string=PLF;#640825 If you review all the PLF threads I've been involved with, you'll see three common chants... 1. PLF's are the most under-taught block of instruction - yet skydivers will use PLFs a lot more in their career than they will emergency procedures. 2. In that split second while landing; you have that "oh sh!t/PLF" thought - you've made your decision. 3. It's better to PLF and be wrong, than not PLF and be wrong. You are to be commended for taking the initiative to learn PLFs... They will serve you well.Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. Or at least make a polite suggestion... Your input may keep someone else - maybe even one of your friends - from feeling the pain that you are feeling now.
