Perris Valley Balloon Jump on Sun 23 May?

Recommended Posts

I’m in Perris for only this weekend and wanted to make a balloon jump. I’ve spoken with the Balloon company “Above the Rest” and they are trying to arrange a balloon/pilot and put together a load.

I believe they need a minimum of 4-5 jumpers (depending on balloon) to make it happen. If in Perris and interested to join the load, contact them directly at:

Above the Rest Hot Air Ballooning
+1 951 334 1689

The jump is $85, from 4500’ or higher and they meet in the Perris parking lot at 5:30am on the day.

I'm so incredibly tempted! I have a coupon for a free balloon jump with this company so have been thinking about doing this. The bad news is I don't have my own gear yet, and afaik they won't let you jump rented gear. What sized canopy are you jumping?

there's nothing better than balloon-jumps! :)
emmi, my dz requires you to have 200 jumps minimum, and should have 100 on the gear u'll be jumping; while i dont know the situation there (perris, flat desert!?), it's a good rule of thump; all i know here it's congested everywhere, and lots of hills and stuff; just something to think about! :)

the balloon companies here dont give a shit as long as you have money, but 100 jumps is good for a balloon jump. anything less and i have removed people from my loads. zones arent tight here, but they can be. you also need to be able to think quick on your feet b/c you dont always get to get out above an awesome landing area. you could end up getting really bad weather and at 2k the pilot wants everyone out but is over a golf course (happened to me). soo 100 jumps is good, go get gear!!!! =D

First balloon jump from Perris, I had to avoid a shit load of power lines, second one had a nice big field, and third one landed in a field next to the 215, a friend ended up landing in the middle of a residential street though, could have hurt if it wasn't a good stand up landing.

Getting back can be a mission too, the balloon company only found me once of three times. I got hit on my some 50ish year old women who gave me a ride back to the DZ on the second one :D
