shah269 0 #1 August 2, 2010 So I did two jumps this past Friday. On one I practiced the usual spins and flips and what not. And on the other I did a track dive. First on belly, then back and then back to belly. And holy mother of god! You really go far when you track from 14k ft! I was amazed as to how fast I was able to track the length of the runway and well past where I wanted to be for deployment! I can only immagine what you wing suit guys get!Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay. I'm glad you had fun and learned something. Just a couple things to consider regarding tracking... For others - be sure you're tracking perpendicular off jump run. Ask someone if you're not sure what that means or which direction to head. You don't want to track over/under anyone else by going up or down jump run. For yourself - track a bit more than halfway out, then track back. But DON'T track all the way back to the line of jump run. You're not likely to end up where you started (refer to first point).Every fight is a food fight if you're a cannibal Goodness is something to be chosen. BillyVance 35 #3 August 2, 2010 I only have 4 wingsuit jumps (all in one day a couple of years ago) But on the last one, I exited more than a mile past the DZ on jump run, turned 180 degrees and started tracking to it. Nearing it, I made a slight turn to one side, saw that I still had a shitload of altitude, then did a wide sweeping turn around the DZ and ended up on the other side facing the original direction of jump run where I finally dumped. It was probably at least a 2 mile track. Wish I had the money to buy my own wingsuit. shah269 0 #4 August 2, 2010 Roger I worked with my instructor to make sure I was out of the way of every one as well as when I was going to pull and where I was going to land. But it's amazing! We jumped I would say a half a mile to the right of the DZ and as I looked down I was a solid mide to the left of the DZ, carved back and still had time to burn.Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay. burtonjm 0 #5 August 2, 2010 We routinely do tracking dives at my DZ where we get out 2 miles from the airport and track back. Tracking dives are one of my favorite things to do!This shit, right here, is OK

It also allows much less time to think about your crappy love life. _____________________________________ Dude, you are so awesome... Can I be on your ash jump ?
