Rdutch 0 #1 September 2, 2010 Anyone have any information on 206 jump doors. We would like to install a lexan door on our 206 and can only find ones for a 182. Fayard had an awesome one on his 206 and we would like to install the same type. If you dont know of anyone that sells/installs them, how about anyone with one, so we can contact them about theirs, or look it up and see where they got it. Thanks. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
vpjr 18 #2 September 2, 2010 Fayard quoted me the lexan door with field approval, Others could build it but no STC or field approval paperwork. I contacted any real players and it was 7k or no paperwork.
PhreeZone 20 #3 September 2, 2010 Is the 337 form available to use as a reference on the existing installs?Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
matthewcline 0 #4 September 2, 2010 The swing up is the better deal. Doesn't take up any head room (Andrew is taller than you or I). You can travel with it, much quieter, and it seals better in rain than the lexan idea. With a "catch it wont bounce up and down on rigs in a climb out. But extra precaution needs to be taken so as to get a design that wont open containers if some one is NOT paying attention on the climb out. But Yeah I know it is not as cool like a roll up lexan door. MattAn Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!
totter 2 #5 September 2, 2010 Is it a standard 206, with co-pilot door, or is it a U206, with a cargo door?

totter 2 #8 September 3, 2010 Quotecan only find ones for a 182 You can still use this info as long as the install is similiar. If you find that most are unwilling to part with their info, no problems. All you need is their N# and $10. Go On-line, to the FAA Web site, Aircraft Registration. You can order the CD-ROM, for that aircraft, that will have all that info. Fayards records would be the best that I know. All his mods to the 182, 206 were done after 1998 and the 337s have ICA attached to them. The ICAs will have material used for the door, how it was attached and where to the airframe and MOST IMPORTANT, it will have the limitations (i.e. door open speed, door operating speed, etc.). This is important because any 337 approved before 1998 might not have ICAs and this is what the FAA is looking for.
