You'd need a wingsuit to do a decent Immelman.
And THIS is one of the better arguments for barrel rolls during breakoff. In a bigway no less.

that is cute. None of these muppets could do a clean Split S even if they had the equipment.

A barrel roll is a great tool to clear airspace. but not really necessary in all situations. I do one on maybe 1% of my jumps (for the purpose of clearing airspace)
they are fun to scare people with doing it low in a wingsuit on a BASE jump.

Back tracking I obviously need to get back belly to earth. On sit jumps I break off in a back track so same applies. Otherwise, unless I'm instructed to by the person leading a tracking jump to barrel roll before pulling I don't do it.
