cshieldsx 0 #1 June 4, 2011 Hello, I've been backpacking in south america for a couple of months and I feel like some jumping but I don't have any of my documents with me (foolish, but I didn't want to lose them). I'm soon to be in venezuela for about 3 weeks and I was wondering if anyone knew if I would be able to jump at Skydive Venezuela (Higuerote). I don't mind paying for a checkout jump or whatever, but I can´t afford a detour to the DZ if I´m just going to get turned away because they don´t know me and I have absolutlely no evidence of being a skydiver (other than some facebook photos, some gear knowledge, and some great chat...). Anyway, I´ve emailed the DZ and haven´t got a response yet and I was hoping to be there fairly soon so if anyone has any contacts or knowledge of the DZ it would be seriously useful. Thanks in advance ChrisBlue Skies
jerry81 10 #2 June 4, 2011 They might make you do a checkout jump, but they're not that stringent on documents, don't worry. I worked there for nearly 4 years and I don't remember us ever turning a jumper away because of a missing piece of paper :)
diablopilot 2 #3 June 4, 2011 Do you have a home DZ in the states that can provide documentation, and reference via email for you? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

jerry81 10 #6 June 5, 2011 There should be enough rental rigs, yes. A lot of it is student gear with bigger canopies (200-240), but there were enough 170s when I was there as well.
