Prospects

The DZ I started my license at was a small static line DZ. After a couple of jumps when they believed you were going to continue your training you were deemed a “prospect”. Prospects were responsible for getting beers, pushing in the plane, and other small tasks.

I thought it was a fun part of the experience and I was wondering if any other DZ have something similar.

That sounds like an excellent idea to help you learn about things, get to know people, and be accepted by the group. Kudos!

Too many people just show up, pay their money, jump, and then leave. Much harder to learn that way, when you don't hang around and get involved with things and people.

I showed up to the DZ Friday night or Sat morning and didn't leave until last load sunday. Fires, beer, (not my)cornhole, and beer. why would you leave?

You will soon find that you can walk onto almost any DZ in the world and you will be considered a friend and fellow skydiver. And, you'll always be allowed to help push the plane, clean the pack floor, or dig a new hole for the outhouse. It's a tight communityy my friend. Welcome!! B|
