mustard 0 #8 April 21, 2012 Congratulations to all of you! I wish I could have been there, but since I've retired from work, I hardly make any jumps at all any more. Eight people is the biggest skydive I make these days, and not many of those. I have enjoyed looking at all the skydiving pictures from the event. Again, it's great news! That means the rest of the weekend can just be laid back fun jumps, right? *** DJan
obelixtim 150 #9 April 21, 2012 A very good news story.....I really hope the media pick up on it. Its an inspiration to all the oldies out there who think life stops at 60, and a lesson for all the punks who think older people are taking up too much space on the planet. The young generation who lived thru the 50's and 60's continues to impress. Yeehaaaaaarrr!!.My computer beat me at chess, It was no match for me at kickboxing.... NWFlyer 2 #13 April 21, 2012 Quote Rookie question...how high did they jump from? Skydive Elsinore posted this gem on their Facebook page this morning that answers your question: Quote Overheard by a SOS Participant, wearing a canula for oxygen since they're going up to 18,000 feet for the World Record attempts, with 61 of his closest friends doing the same: Tandem student to Instructor: do they always make the old people wear oxygen when they're skydiving? SOS IS IN THE HOUSE, SHATTERING RECORDS! That's fairly typical for a bigway of this size; larger jumps will often exit at a higher altitude."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. mjl06750 0 #15 April 21, 2012 That's amazing. My first tandem was from 18000 ft with oxygen 2 weeks ago. Even though it seemed like a long time I can't imagine the planning it takes to get that together quickly and safely.
