red13 0 #1 December 13, 2005 Hi everyone! I'm new at this (one tandem jump 8 years ago) and I'm planning on starting AFF training in Jan. 2006. I've been hanging out all over dropzone.com and reading all I can in the forums about anything and everything. Anyway, long story short: What's the shortest time you've seen someone get their A? I mean, can it be done in one weekend?(I'm aware of the 25 jump requirement) Also, can anyone tell me which is a better way to go between AFF and Static Line? Silverchic 0 #2 December 13, 2005 I got my A in 12 jumps - almost 2 months I think - but I was taking it slow... I've seen people go through their whole AFF course in the space of a week and they are only 1 or 2 jumps away from their A.How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage? bob.dino 1 #4 December 13, 2005 Not in Australia, where Silverchic jumps. However, since the original poster is US based, you're right.
Travman 6 #5 December 13, 2005 Quote 3.2.1. CERTIFICATE "A" CONDITIONS: Applicants must: Have made at least 10 stable free falls Have made at least 10 descents landing within 25 metres of the target centre, these landings being made unassisted by a Target Assistant; So your last 10 AFF jumps were done without a TA and you got within 25 metres of target centre??? Thats impressive.

ncfitzge 0 #7 December 13, 2005 I started AFF on a Saturday and finished Sunday. By the next weekend, I had my A License. In that span of a week, I spend over 3k. You have to have a coach on some of those jumps. So I ended up paying for gear, jump slot, coach slot, additional slot so the aircraft would take off. Expensive way to do it. But it can be completed quickly. Fitz#148 Sonic Scrat "Have you ever kissed a rabbit between the eyes?" Mike111 0 #8 December 13, 2005 I would gess that getting 25 jumps done with an instructorwould be very hard to do in a weekend. Aloow yourself sometime so you can consolidate all your knowledge and spend more time if necessary on stuff you need to revise. better to learn it all and be safer than rush it.. If you have the cash, IMHO go for AFF
