No Kings October protests

Recommended Posts

Seeing the rhetoric from Mike Johnson and his fellow thugs, I’m worried for the US on this upcoming protest.

I’ve also seen a lot of posts on reddit encouraging protesters to be “peaceful but armed” on reddit. It’s always difficult to tell with those kind of posts if they are bots, external forces (China, Russia, Iran), right wing agitators or people genuinely fed up. Regardless it doesn’t sound like a good idea.

We had something over 200,000 march in Chicago.  No violence, no arrests.  I gather NYC was similar, no arrests.

Yes it was a great outcome for the cause. Saw a few arrests of MAGA idiots brandishing guns and a funny video of a MAGA guy causing trouble and face planting.

Hi folks,

It's pretty bad when you only see the negative in humor:  “There are very narrow exceptions to the First Amendment, and among them are obscenity,” Steinbaugh said. “But obscenity is something that is, in some sense, erotic. That is not this. It’s a political speech at a political demonstration. That context alone should sound alarm bells in that police department that you’re crossing some clear First Amendment lines here.”

Then again, it is Alabama.

Hi folks,

Well, there goes the inheritance:  Fox News host Jesse Watters has slammed No Kings protesters as ignorant trend-chasers who had "no idea why they're there" — after admitting that his own mother was among their ranks.

And, Thanksgiving is just around the corner.  ;P

Bachelorette parties should probably avoid the area.

I think posting a video of dropping shit on your opponents is obscene.

Hi folks,

If I were still a member of the GOP, I would be afraid of them also:  the rallies were most notable for a funhouse Noah's Ark of frogs, pandas, koalas, woodchucks, sharks and lobsters.

Why are protesters dressing up like frogs and unicorns? : NPR

Now, I am here to tell you that these things are really scary.

Hi folks,

This is so bizarre that you would think Trump said it:  “This safehouse is where antifa-affiliated protesters are conducting paramilitary operations,”

Fox News calls his Portland apartment an ‘antifa safehouse.’ They’re not wrong, he says

So, if I let someone use my bathroom I am antifa-affiliated.

It's getting really nutzy out there.

“Do we know whose place that is, like, who pays the rent there?” Ingraham asked.

It’s sort of a mystery. We know that you have, like, the antifa ringleaders that all come together there,” Sortor said.

Wow - we don't know who pays the rent! It's so suspicious! Except that you could say that about literally every other apartment in the city unless you go and ask. When a source of funds is hidden behind three shell companies and an offshore trust, that's a mystery. When it's the guy who lives there that you haven't bothered talking to, it's just a thing you don't know.
