Trump wanted MIT to agree to an "educational compact" that would require MIT to adhere to politically correct definitions of gender, prohibit the publication of anything that would “belittle” conservative ideologies (like research into climate change) and limit foreign students. Sally Kornbluth (president) refused, saying that "fundamentally, the premise of the document is inconsistent with our core belief that scientific funding should be based on scientific merit alone." Sad that the concept of basing research decisions solely on scientific merit is now something that the right abhors. Sad, given that they use the Internet, GPS, Epaper and email all the time.
