America's Cultural Revolution

Recommended Posts

Mao Zedong from 1966 to 1976.led China's cultural revolution. The title of this thread is the name of a book proclaiming "How the radical left conquered everything".

Now Trump has made it his goal as president to attack education, attack universities, attack cultural institutions and even the greatest American universities. "The Trump administration is giving museums 120 days to replace “divisive or ideologically driven language with unifying, historically accurate and constructive descriptions.”

" the White House says its review “aims to ensure alignment with the president’s directive to celebrate American exceptionalism, remove divisive or partisan narratives and restore confidence in our shared cultural institutions.” It adds that the “goal is not to interfere with the day-to-day operations of curators or staff, but rather to support a broader vision of excellence that highlights historically accurate, uplifting and inclusive portrayals of America’s heritage.”

Evidently references to slavery, allied participation in world wars, etc are to be removed. In their place America will be shown to be the greatest country ever. American natives are to be labelled as savages who in the end should thank the US for freeing them from their miserable lives.

The myth of American exceptionalism is now dead thanks to the American people allowing it to be killed. The once great shining example of the American Constitution with its separation of powers has been turned into a hollow empty promise. Trump did not do this alone and the midterm elections are not going to undo any of his outrageous actions. The die is cast.

I disagree. There are some issues to which Americans are exceptional.

1. Trump is personally going to host the Kennedy Centre Honours "the former TV personality said he initially turned down the request to host. “I’m the president of the United States. Are you fools asking me to do that? ‘Sir, you’ll get much higher ratings.’ I said, I don’t care. I’m president of the United States. I won’t do it. They said, please,” Trump recounted.

He added that a plea from White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles convinced him: “Okay, Susie, I’ll do it. That’s the power she’s got.”

He told the audience, “I didn’t want to do it. They’re going to say he insisted. I did not insist, but I think it will be quite successful.” He then reminded attendees of his television experience: “It’s been a long time. I used to host The Apprentice finales, and we did rather well with that, so I think we’re going to do very well.” Trump hosted the NBC reality competition show from 2004 until 2015."

2. No president in world history has raked in more cash from becoming president or leader of any, ANY country! Not Kim of N. Korea, Not Putin, not Marcos of the Philippines, nobody.

New Analysis Finds Trump Family Has Raked in $3.4 Billion Off the Presidency Thats only six months into his presidential run. Eight times(a full four year term) $3.4 is $27 billion which is truly exceptional.

I therefor respectfully disagree America is exceptional.

Throwing a Subway sandwich is now a more serious offence than storming the Capitol and threatening to hang the VP.

Funny old world we live in.

For my friends everything for my enemies the law.
