Well, if the bins were designed to stay shut, then what would writers use to emphasize the how radical the flight maneuver was?"There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. Or be looking out the window after your jet airliner just did an emergency dive and see skydivers waving at you? One of the DIA approaches from the west goes right over our DZ. A couple times those guys have looked pretty damn low. We usually only go up to about 12K AGL (Which is about 17K MSL) but the other day I told the pilot I wouldn't show him my boobs if he gave us another 1000 feet.I'm trying to teach myself how to set things on fire with my mind. Hey... is it hot in here?
JohnMitchell 16 #7 July 2, 2013 Couple of questions. . . Had the jump pilot called ATC yet? Did the controller call traffic to the Spirit Wings A/C in a timely fashion? Were they truly on a "collision course" or just close? What looks really close on radar and TCAS can be pretty innocuous when you see the other A/C pass by 300 yards away. Why were the flight maneuvers done so radically? TCAS alerts are supposed to give directives that result in fractional G-loads, not float flight attendants thru space. Did the jump plane have the airliner in sight? Lots of variables and it's hard to know the details from a news report. Glad everyone is okay.

Or they airline/FAA use MSL and the DZ/jumppilot use AGL. topJump more, post less!
