billvon 3,080 #1 Posted July 21, 2024 Biden just announced he would not seek re-election. I gotta say I did not think he would do this. I thought we'd see another Ginsberg. Good for him for making a decision for the good of the country, and not just for his own personal good.

Phil1111 1,149 #6 July 21, 2024 This should represent an immediate 10-15 point swing to the democrats. Given the huge numbers who said that they wanted neither Trump nor Biden. Once again Trump is able to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Who thinks that Trump would have done the same?

However, I am very glad that he has put the country ahead of his own desires. Good for him! Jerry Baumchen

Afternoon, Jerry Just some random thoughts - Promoting VP Harris as the key replacement is more of a way to keep the PAC funds and I do not think she's the best person for the job (i.e., Border Czar). Whitmer - I just don't know. The Democrat party is going to have to take into account the southern Democrats are Billy Joe Bobs and I'm not sure they're ready for a female President. Or a Kamala/Whitmer ticket. IMO - the best strategic plan would be a Kelly/Moore ticket. Let's keep in mind the number of Trump dissatisfied Republicans and a way to shift then as a FOR instead of an AGAINST rather then being like me and not voting. I can easily jump out of the door for a Kelly/Moore ticket.

Can't have someone guilty of treason in the oval office, seems to me. And to start the show rip apart every mansion, hovel, or golf course he owns looking for evidence and immediately get him under a bright light for questioning. Except Trump has a couple aces in his back pocket and they have rewarded him already. All of the above have shown a willingness to pander to conservative causes and disregard the constitution. Hi Keith, Re: Promoting VP Harris as the key replacement is more of a way to keep the PAC funds It looks like Harris's legal team has filed the necessary paperwork to secure the PAC funds. Re: I do not think she's the best person for the job Nor do I. However, as I watch a CBS News Special Report, it looks like the party is uniting behind her. Probably to prevent a blood-letting within the party. Apparently, she is staying quiet today. One news-type said that she might be waiting for Biden's speech to the country within the next few days. Update: Apparently, the latest news from the Obama's is not anything like an endorsement of Harris. It's going to be fun, Jerry Baumchen PS) With this fast-moving news event, 'apparently' is my new buzzword of the moment. That way they could sell it as "NO NORE WOKE!"
