Karoline Leavitt Boasts Trump Wouldn’t Hesitate to Arrest SCOTUS Justices

Speak up at your own risk.

This is a case of selective representation by the media, and I came to this conclusion after watching the actual Press Conference myself https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsU3o9fvSmM at 00:37.

Leavitt didn't boast about anything. She answered the reporter's question by calling it hypothetical, then referred to the Justice Department, explained the context regarding another judge's case, and ended with a general legal statement, "anyone who's breaking the law, or obstructing federal law enforcement officials from doing their jobs, is putting themselves at risk of being prosecuted, absolutely".

I had a feeling that I should fact check this, and I was right.

Look here, we didn't send you off to school to learn to argue with your elders even if we are wrong.

ah, I mean no disrespect or offense. I just prefer to avoid emotional and misleading titles. The world is already as heated as it is.

You're good. Just bear in mind you'll be dealing with a lot of sensitive people after graduation.

Hi David,

The Trump admin has arrested one judge already.

IMO there is no reason to believe that they would not try to arrest any judge[s] that get in their way.

Give it some time & let's see what plays out.

Though I shudder to think of who will follow Trump, since the Democrats are sure to capitalize on the richly earned loathing he elicits to get the most mediocre candidate possible elected,

Brilliant! Stunningly mediocre would be a refreshing, reliable alternative to the mercurially incompetent incumbent.

"Right back atcha" trade legislation makes perfect sense.  Trump adds the wild card of it being unclear quite what he intends - nobody is going to bank on him having a rational game plan.

Except it doesn't, because it isn't. There is no 'back atcha' involved in the tariff formulas. None. It is unprovoked and unwarranted attack. In addition (and I can't believe I have to say this to a functioning adult), having no rational game plan is a Bad Thing.

Ripping Woke out by the roots is gratifying.  Support for "good" racism and sexism is nauseating, and a system that is purely merit based has the edge over any preferences to identity.

I would laugh if what you were saying wasn't so depressingly racist. Trump is presiding over a huge expansion of Federally mandated DEI programs. This is the demand he made to the major private universities: By August 2025, the University shall commission an external party, which shall satisfy the federal government as to its competence and good faith, to audit the student body, faculty, staff, and leadership for viewpoint diversity, such that each department, field, or teaching unit must be individually viewpoint diverse.....

Every department or field found to lack viewpoint diversity must be reformed by hiring a critical mass of new faculty within that department or field who will provide viewpoint diversity; every teaching unit found to lack viewpoint diversity must be reformed by admitting a critical mass of students who will provide viewpoint diversity.

There's your MAGA 'merit' based hiring system - you have to hire enough Republicans. Engineering Professors can't be hired on the basis of purely being the best Engineering teacher if it means a Republican is going to be overlooked. Chemistry Professors can't be hired on the basis of who has the most promising research if it means a Republican is going to be overlooked. Mathematics undergrads can't be admitted on the basis of who had the best SAT scores if too many of them sound like they might be liberals.

But hey - you're just happy they definitely can't give someone a little extra chance of an interview because they're black.

Having said that, if an economic reset can take place to address the $Trillions we owe without complete implosion, I'm cool with having him to take the heat.

Exactly the same reason to vote for the leprechaun who promised you the pot of gold, with about as much chance of success.

Truly, you are an amazing specimen of the Dunning-Kruger effect. I marvel at how a person so desperate to be viewed as having an unparallelled grasp of the interconnectedness of history, society and politics can also be so completely uninterested in actually knowing anything about the world in which they live and the subjects on which they speak, and so ready to credulously swallow any line of bullshit that the conservative elites throw at you. If political scientists and biologists could team up to find a way to reverse whatever the heck it is that's going on in your brain we might even be able to develop an effective antidote to the new world order of populist authoritarianism before it's too late.

I suppose unfortunately there are several Supreme Court Justices who definitely should be arrested (for non-partisan reasons) but the Trump admin are the absolute last people who ever would go after those particular ones.

PS)  I can barely wait until Nov 2026.

But you're going to have to.

One of the unique things about Trump is that he has no loyalty or respect whatsoever for the wider Republican party, so he doesn't really give a fuck about what's going to happen in the midterms. Elections that other Republicans are going to lose are a them problem, not a him problem.

Therefore, while pretty much any other administration would already be panicking about how to change tack and stave off a potential electoral wipeout in Congress, he's going to just carry on full steam ahead for the entirety of the next 18 months, right up until polling day.

Hi folks,

Recently, I was reading that Trump really reacts to polls; he is not going to like this one:  37% admit they’re downright afraid

80% of Americans dislike this Trump idea, new poll shows - oregonlive.com

But, but, the winning.

They saying goes, hope in one hand and crap in the other and see which fills first. That said there are 20 R Senators up in 2026 and the House is, according to history, scheduled to go D. Maybe we can pass the time fantasizing about President Jeffries.

Hi folks,

There are times when I think Trump might just believe that the Earth is flat.  He is totally incapable of accepting that he lost in 2020:  Then [ Trump ] again went into Biden. “He should have never been there. The election was rigged.”

You just don’t get it Jerry!

You’ve got to learn MAGA maths, to understand the winning. All the libs denying that tariffs are working and that inflation is down? If you use MAGA maths you’ll see the true genius of Trump!

Eggs are down 93%! You see previously under Biden you could buy 30 eggs for $10, now you can buy 2 eggs for the same price. (30-2)/30 x 100 = 93.333

Here’s the link where Trump explains how it works ;)

So moron SecDef is ending the Pentagon’s women peace and security program calling it a “Biden woke initiative”.  It was promoted by Ivanka, supported by Rubio and Noem, and signed into law by Trump45.

I just read an article about the military parade being planned for Trump’s birthday. 6500 troops, tanks, helicopters and the golden nights parachute team!

I’m guessing being a military team they don’t have any option but to go?

I'd have a seriously hard issue with this were I still in service.

It is in direct opposition of the oath we swore.

Stupidity is ending America, and it's being celebrated.

Not including a perceived obligation to obey their Commander in Chief in all things, what percentage of our armed forces do you, or anyone here for that matter, think would be happy to do it simply because they are Trump supporters?

My suspicion is - when someone figures out the logisitical, feeding, housing, security, etc, issues at about a 100M dollar price tag; it will go away. We can hope.
