I can just see the progression now: "Tariffs are great and will save America." "They have been going great but I am going to suspend them anyway." "I'll put JD Vance in charge of them." "I hope JD Vance fixes the problems with the tariffs." "I gave JD Vance a great solution, and he's working on fixing the new problems with them." "When I started the tariffs they worked beautifully. I'm not sure how Vance is screwing them up." "The recession was caused by Vance's bungling of the tariffs. I did a great job, he screwed it up." "I am appointing Stephen Miller to be my new VP after Vicious Vance screwed up the US economy." I'd suggest the reason she had her passport and 3 grand cash for a dinner out is because she's a complete chowder head like everyone else Trump hired to void the 25th amendment.

So, a self serving, pea brained, wanna be influencer, without an anchor in even her own reality, praying for her 15 minutes of fame? As I see it everyone is now totally fucked separated only by degree of age. I am by all comparisons very lucky, mostly by chance. I have my boat, aka The Peoples Republic of Joe, and my DZ, JoeVille, (the original name on the plat by the way) and a home on my own airport. Everyone who works with me are totally awesome and cool, (almost as if they were hand picked) have long known I'm a screaming liberal, and all of my prime customers are already too scared to do other than toe the line. Even my neighbors think we're great to have next door. From here on out my first concern will be me and mine. I hope everyone does the same for their friends because we are, apparently, the only friends we have. Edited Sunday at 05:11 PM by JoeWeber
wmw999 2,545 #1563 Sunday at 06:33 PM She's actually smart. But smart like Ann Coulter -- seems to be fairly mean-spirited deep down, and wants to make it clear how much smarter she is than anyone who disagrees with her. It helps her brand. Say it isn't so, Joe: Just 22% say they strongly approve of Trump’s handling of the job, a new low, and about twice as many say they strongly disapprove (45%). billvon 3,076 #1569 Monday at 03:05 AM Saw this on Facebook, unattributed: "Terrible things are happening outside. Poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes. Families are torn apart. Men, women, and children are separated. Children come home from school to find that their parents have disappeared." And sure enough - a Trump supporter defended the "deportations" described by that quote. When Trump supporters can't tell the difference . . . Reminds me of the NPR tradition of reading the Declaration of Independence. At least two Trump supporters tweeted and demanded they stop insulting Trump. Excerpts: =============================== He has made judges dependent on his will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries. He has erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance. He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his assent to their acts of pretended legislation: For cutting off our trade with all parts of the world: For depriving us, in many cases, of the benefits of trial by jury: For transporting us beyond seas to be tried for pretended offences: For taking away our charters, abolishing our most valuable laws, and altering fundamentally the forms of our governments: He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us . . . In every stage of these oppressions we have petitioned for redress in the most humble terms: our repeated petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people. =================================

JerryBaumchen 1,444 #1571 Monday at 07:43 PM Hi folks, An interesting commentary on Trump: He seeks to go a bridge too far. And to that end, he probably has convinced himself that the lies or fabrications he invents are true, to the point of being delusional. The fundamental flaw is that Trump operates on instincts that can be delusional by ignoring basic facts. Trump has convinced himself his delusions are reality When I was growing up, a kid across the street was quite like this; he would tell a lie many times over, and then believe it. dogyks 9 #1572 Monday at 08:09 PM Though I shudder to think of who will follow Trump, since the Democrats are sure to capitalize on the richly earned loathing he elicits to get the most mediocre candidate possible elected, a significant portion of his agenda are both warranted and impossible to implement gently. The way to put a halt to freestyle immigration isn't to build a wall, it's to make it so you'd have to be out of your fucking mind to be in a country without ironclad credentials. Think North Korea or Iran. I, personally, prefer a guerilla theater approach, where you give the convincing impression of harsh treatment with paid participants (out of work actors) playing the victims. The only goal is results. "Right back atcha" trade legislation makes perfect sense. Trump adds the wild card of it being unclear quite what he intends - nobody is going to bank on him having a rational game plan. Ripping Woke out by the roots is gratifying. Support for "good" racism and sexism is nauseating, and a system that is purely merit based has the edge over any preferences to identity. The days of people "identifying" as whatever their fantasies dictate have rather run their course. It is unfortunate that Trump taints anything he touches, since the baby is sure to go out with the bath water. He does tend to give sociopathic idiots a bad name (Ukraine started WHAT?!). Having said that, if an economic reset can take place to address the $Trillions we owe without complete implosion, I'm cool with having him to take the heat. wmw999 2,545 #1573 Monday at 08:20 PM Oh don't worry -- the Republicans will put up Vance or Stephen Miller unless he has an affair with Melania. And no matter who the Democrats put up, you'll find some disqualifying reason why whoever it is, is even WORSE than Satan. Maybe they were nice to someone who identified as trans or something. Wendy P. You get NAACP bigwigs that turn out to be entirely of European extraction and people that want to go through life as many things they are not. Seems like an exercise in futility, but whatever floats your boat. There are some ideologies that are without redeeming value. Those that, say, approve of rape of outsiders of any gender are definitively reprehensible. Actually, the Church of Satan has a lot to recommend it. Its identity is primarily a "fuck you" to mainstream religion, and it has an awful lot more going for it than any of the basics of the Democratic Party (Republicans are maybe 2% less bad).
