Trump vs Hitler

That's it in a nutshell. Thank you.

In a nutshell you are butt sore because you belong to the party of racists, MAGA nihilists, Christians, misogynists, "pro-life" whatever the fuck that means,  double dip morons, etc. etc. etc. You can fill in the  blanks even if it hurts some more. If you don't like that, well, tough tit: quit and join the party of lightweights. You don't see yourself in some of those categories and want a kind pass. Sorry.

Who are you talking about, elected Republicans? There was nothing stopping any of them doing what Liz Cheney did. If they had, Trump would be impeached and gone. Hell, Congressional leaders and grandees actively facilitated his recent primary win by treating him as a king in exile for Biden's entire term. Very few of these people were Maga faithful, just soulless power hungry opportunists who put winning ahead of principle.

Or you're talking about Republican voters? Well, stop me if this is too complex, but they can use their fucking vote. Bigun refuses to vote for a Democrat in the presidential election despite knowing the nature of the choice and the consequences that face the nation. When pressed, he'll just make up some vile nonsense about Biden in order to avoid any more difficult questions, then later claim he was only joking. All of that is on him. Again, I can fully understand why he feels guilty about that - but it's no basis for claiming that he personally is just like a victim of racism because people are pointing out that Trump is despicable. It's absurd.

Voters vote for many reasons. Most identify with a few, perhaps 10-15 major reasons. Then narrow it down to a half dozen issues of most importance. For some its guns, government involvement in the economy, religion, the USSC, military spending, etc. Not everyone is a political animal so to speak like the participants in this forum. Most people tune out issues that they think don't effect their lives. That doesn't make them stupid, racists, fascists, etc.

Its why most republicans don't recognize the dangers associated with trump. The US survived one experience with the cancer of trump. It would survive another. But I wouldn't wish cancer on most anyone.

And as I have repeated and repeated and repeated - no one here said it did. But Trump is a racist and a fascist, and saying so isn't remotely like being racist against Bigun, no matter how badly he wants to be seen as a victim.

If someone votes for Trump, 'tuning out' all the corruption and fascism, misogyny and hatred that he represents, then they are either fucking idiots, or truly evil.

"Biden's too old" - Well, Trumpty Dumpty isn't much younger, and he's evil.

"What about Hunter's Laptop" - Giuliani lost a defamation suit because of that laptop. And nobody with any expertise who's looked at it has said it has any chance of being real. What about Jared's 2 BILLION from the Saudis?

The list could go on and on and on.

But Trump is still evil. And anyone who supports him is responsible for supporting that evil.

No they're not.  They may be just completely uninformed.  That's not a big put down; I am completely uninformed on a lot of topics (women's fashion, TV shows etc.)  A very large segment of the US population simply does not care.

Sure - but we're talking about a Republican who is saying 'criticising any Republican for their political choices is like calling a black person a nigger'.

That's what I was asking about.  "Nigger" is not a characterization, stereotype, association etc.  It's an insult, pure and simple, like calling someone a cunt.  They are not making a comparison between the person and female genitals, or implying that all women are evil or anything like that.  It is done for no other reason than spite, to insult the other person and make them feel bad or angry.

That is nothing like "republicans are like Nazis" (which I never said or implied BTW.)  And it is definitely nothing like comparing the rise of Trump to the rise of Hitler.  This sort of false reductionism is a great way to ignore the points of a discussion, but not a great way to understand a topic.

There is a VERY strong parallel between the rise of Hitler and the rise of Trump.  Trump uses Hitler's (translated) rhetoric and parrots his policies.  Former wife Ivana even said he kept a copy of Hitler's speeches by his bed when they were married (and he didn't deny it).

Choosing to be uninformed about someone you openly support and intend to vote for is not like being uninformed about womens' fashion or TV shows.  It is either stupid or evil in and of itself.  I seriously doubt that you intend to influence fashion or TV shows despite your lack of information in the same way an uninformed voter influences the outcome of an election.

I have a few big reasons why i won’t vote for Biden besides his age and his crackhead son.  Memorial Day weekend is a fitting time seeing how Biden’s incompetence lead to more people being recognized on memorial day.  The Afghanistan withdrawal.  During the withdrawal he allowed the Taliban to provide security around the Kabul airport. He actually appeared shocked when a suicide bomber detonated a bomb killing 13 servicemen and over 150 civilians.  Oh and how did he respond to this attack? He approved a drone strike to target the ones responsible for the attack. The only problem was the target was a civilian family killing 10. 7 of them being children. One of the fathers of a Marine killed in the attack said when Biden came to talk to the family’s of the serviceman killed he said the President was telling them he understood their grief and loss because he lost a veteran son to cancer.

Exactly. Maybe you’d be able to explain it to Wendy, she seems to be having trouble with the lack of subtlety.

You forgot the "s." That's what categorizes the insult for all.

You did not. Notice the "s." But, many of your affiliation do.

Lol, no, of course you don’t. Not if the only way to get an insult in is by pretending not to.

Who did? The post that prompted you to make such an absurd and racist comparison categorically did not do so. You know this, yet you continue to flat out lie to cover up the stupidity and inanity of the comment. Which again, even if your lie was true, would still be inane and racist.

Agree. Its gets lost in the noise sometimes but about 50% of all Americans are republicans. IMO only 10% are racists. Keep in mind that democrats have racists in their party as well.

Dems aren't following a leader who espouses policies and uses dogwhistle rhetoric designed to appeal to racists.

You should really think before you write.

Hey Joe - this is what irony looks like.

Bigun - criticising you for your choices is nothing like racially insulting a black person. I know you’re just trying to cover your tracks so you don’t have to feel ashamed for saying something so stupid and racist, but that only makes it worse. You could still come out of this with some credit if you admit your error.

Ok, I thought I replied to this, but either I screwed it up or a glitch didn't let it post.

Being uniformed about women's fashion or TV shows (I am not informed on either of those) doesn't have any effect on the future of the country.

If someone is so uninformed that they don't realize how evil Trump is, and especially if they vote with that level of ignorance, the they are...

Fucking idiots.

Not coming from BIGUN, he does think before he writes and he writes what he truly believes, in my view. I simply think some of his considered opinions could use some more considering. I'd be thrilled to see him change an opinion but he really does not need to admit error to get credit from me or you.

Doing it a little too brown there. Bigun is no racist, and he's making no such claims. He is suggesting that painting all Republicans with the same brush is just as wrong as painting all of any group

Wendy P.

Hi Wendy,

One of my best friends is a member of the GOP.  However, he does say that if Trump gets the nomination, he will resign from the party.

As for the 'same brush:'  I will NOT vote for any member of the GOP until they disavow Trump.

I’m going to vote for Trump simply because the only other choice is Biden.  I don’t like Trumps rhetoric or most of  personality traits. I think he is a self serving sleaze. That being said Biden’s presidency has been an absolute disaster.  His withdrawal from Afghanistan was reprehensible but he touted it as a success.  His energy and economic polices are on par with his military abilities.  Plus the man seems like he cannot  even speak a complete sentence.
