Best solution if you avoid the rope/stair thing would probably be a no slider, static line base setup.

You could use a crossbow, with a hook/wire that you shoot into the building across the road, hook a carabiner, and slide on through the window on the other end. James Bond style.

Then there is always the "other" method, the cheap way. Get a retired student canopy/harness, run to the roof, open it up and run till it is inflated, and just run over the edge. That way is is kinda deployed as you go over the edge.

This is brilliant indeed. Fun and safety very rarely show up in the same place the way they do in this case .

I think they should sew in a few gopro mountings too.

Several of the hotels in Korea I stayed in had an emergency exit system in the closet. It was a rope and a glove.

That wasn't the emergency exit kit.
