A Democrat-inspired witch hunt in Texas

Recommended Posts

Billionaire republicans are fighting with a couple republicans who don't like corruption in Texas. Its all over the Texas attorney general Ken Paxton and his pending impeachment. Hard core republicans are linking integrity to democrats. What else is new?

But the knives are coming out and it could be more messy than pigs in a wallow.

The only way they can be stopped is by losing market share. So called 'moderate" Republicans need to register as Independents or Democrats. That they don't proves they aren't hence were fucked.

Learned about this from Heather Cox Richardson this morning:

Texas AG Ken Paxton’s habit of refusing to defend state agencies cost taxpayers

He (Paxton) has long positioned himself as one of the country’s strongest conservative attorneys general, relentlessly pursuing nearly 50 lawsuits against the federal government on issues that include immigration, health care and the environment.

...

Despite his role as Texas’ lead attorney, Paxton has denied representation to state agencies at least 75 times in the past two years, according to records obtained by ProPublica and The Texas Tribune. The denials forced some of those agencies to assume additional, unanticipated costs as they scrambled to secure legal assistance.
