The US war against China

Just as Putin has gone to war and not declared it. President Biden has declared war against China with regards to high technology and chips.

“The U.S. has essentially declared war on China’s ability to advance the country’s use of high-performance computing for economic and security gains,” Paul Triolo, a China and tech expert at Albright Stonebridge, a consulting firm, told The Financial Times. Or as the Chinese Embassy in Washington framed it, the U.S. is going for “sci-tech hegemony.” The US has banned exports of chips, chip design and chip making equipment to China.

Xi and China have not had much to say about this new trade war. Most likely because China is about to start a new congress. "The ruling Communist Party of China is expected to kick off its 20th National Congress — held once every five years — on Oct. 16."

China has been pressing hard to develop its own chip manufacturing sector. With tens of billions of dollars in subsidies. For which it has had limited success. For certain once the congress is over China will retaliate.

China is helping Russia. China tossed out democracy in Hong Kong. There has been little debate about this new war with China and once retaliation starts. It could effect many US jobs.
