I certainly don't think that compromise is "evil." However I do not think we should be giving such large subsidies to an industry that manipulates our government to constantly provide them with tax breaks and deregulation to an industry that sells products that are harmful to not only the environment but humans as well. wmw999 2,587 #7 January 22, 2022 I like to backpack. Sometimes the best way to get to where I want to sleep is to go back to avoid an obstacle I found. If I were 6’ tall and 30 I might be able to go through or over some of them, but I’m not Wendy P.

wmw999 2,587 #13 January 23, 2022 I’m actually still the same height I’ve always been, or at least I was at my last checkup. Which since I’m 67 is pretty good. And weight-bearing exercise is best; that backpack definitely counts I’ll admit that the only way I’ve ever been 6 feet tall is standing on a stepstool Wendy P. Sure, renewables are politically popular and they are growing. But both wind and solar are facing increasing headwinds because of land-use conflicts. Since 2015, more than 300 local communities from Maine to Hawaii have rejected or restricted wind projects. The backlash against Big Solar is also gaining momentum. Over the summer, Big Solar projects in Pennsylvania, Nevada and Montana were rejected. Among the most recent rejections: In November, regulators in Henry County, Va., rejected two large proposed solar projects.” It is amusing that sharing this simple reality results in name calling and personal attacks. My thread “The Green New Deal = Magical Thinking” was so controversial that it was eventually locked. Ironically, global CO2 emissions are greater now than they were a half a decade ago when I started the thread. #Vindicated

I suspect you wouldn't conflate braking with stopping or refuse to accept that without braking there might be no stopping and a probably a lot more crashing.
