If so, what? I know of no Christian who hates me. I completely disagree with, what I think is, your premise. Jerry Baumchen
gowlerk 2,266 #3 January 2, 2022 (edited) I see. Because they have no real answer to the simple logic of atheism. Hate is what religion does best, so that is what it's practitioners go with. You seem to be hung up on how Christianity is affected. But it is only one of the many sources of religious hatred. And at it's core the hatred is just tribalism anyway. You don't really hate atheists, you hate being confronted with the bad side of religion. You are just another one of those who think people like me should just shut up and stop offending you. Classic snowflake. And now you would seem to be defending Ron's desire to overthrow the US constitution. For no other reason than that you feel akin to his religion. It wasn't until Bill replied that there was any thing of substance in that thread to respond to. 1 hour ago, gowlerk said: You are just another one of those who think people like me should just shut up and stop offending you. I was pointing out that Ron's ideas are counter to what America has traditionally stood for. And I'm not really sure that fundamentalist is the best description of his beliefs. 3 minutes ago, Coreece said: You were talking about the same silly presumptions about us setting up a theocracy and Zombies? No, I care little about what theocratic beliefs anyone holds. I only care about behaviors. Ron is advocating overthrowing the US government because he would prefer a different one. 6 minutes ago, Coreece said: If I really wanted to overthrow the constitution and set up a theocracy like you said, why would I be offended? I didn't say you did. I said you would like everyone to stop picking on your poor suppressed co-religionists. Ron is the one who seems to be pining for a theocracy. We've talked about this before, how you keep saying "seems to be this and seems to be that or I'm not really sure," but he's already explained to you repeatedly what his idea of a theocracy means and it had nothing to do with contemporary politics and shoving whatever down your throat. It is not about what theocracy means to him. It is about what the word means to me. He clearly is siding with the people who feel that the Biden administration needs to be replaced by force if necessary.

Right. But his support of the Jan 6th insurrection does indeed mean he wants to shove his politics down your throat. (Or to take away the hyperbole, he supports armed insurrection to overturn democratically elected government.) His fundamentalism is loosely - but not directly - linked to that.
