kallend 2,174 #1 Posted August 27, 2020 Fake quotes and easily disprovable lies at the RNC convention. The must really despise their base.https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2020/08/27/daily-202-republican-convention-offers-apocryphal-quotes-amid-revisionist-history/
SkyDekker 1,465 #2 August 27, 2020 The guy giving a dig to people not knowing history and then talking about Madison signing the Declaration of Independence was priceless. I mean it wasn't even off the cuff, it was a prepared speech written from a teleprompter. Many people within the GOP would have read and vetted that speech. wolfriverjoe 1,523 #3 August 27, 2020 I gotta love how they are claiming that the country would descend into chaos & anarchy if Biden wins. We have that now.

They are using current imagery and then saying: this is what Biden's America would look like.....it's ingenious and insane at the same time.

It fires up the base and scares stupid people. There are a few posts going around FB pointing out that there were BLM protests during the Obama administration that didn't descend into the chaos we have today. There was some violence/damage/destruction (Ferguson MO comes to mind), but it was much less. Not sure how much can legitimately be blamed on Trump. Not all of it. But at least some. I certainly believe Trump can be blamed for setting the stage and fanning the flames of the anger. There has been little to no reconciliatory language from the WH. Seems to be that Trump is only threatening violence as a solution. This is just continuing to build and I believe is going to get worse. I think Trump is hoping it gets worse. He likely believes that violence works in his favour.
SkyDekker 1,465 #7 August 27, 2020 Looks like they are quoting Facebook memes in their speeches. Vetted, reviewed speeches. They are either stupid or rely on their voters being stupid. https://www.huffingtonpost.ca/entry/lara-trump-lincoln-quote_n_5f473e60c5b64f17e13878b5?ri18n=true

Was she really a 7th grade teacher? I never met her - how do we know if that's what she really said! Another funny thing was with my speed reading again. In my mind that quote sounded like this: "Mrs. B used to tell us ‘believe none of what you hear. . .those words never fully weighed on me until I met my husband and the Trump family.” hehe
