Lucky bastard. I worked at the plant as an engineering co-op when I was in college, but never got a ride in one.

Man, I've seen his show on YouTube before and I hate him ^.^ Seriously jealous of this lucky skunk. He's got a pretty good presentation style and he's very clever with everything: scripting, pacing, audio, lighting, editing, mixing. He's an example of how technology can empower a single individual (if he is getting assistance from anyone, they are not credited). All the tools needed to do this sort of thing are either cheap or free (a secondhand 1080P GoPro 3 can be had for as little as $40). Good for him - I'm glad he's putting all that know-how to good use, unlike most.

He uses a Phantom v2511 camera for most of his stuff and those start at $150,000. So I'm not sure I agree with your statement about it being cheap.;)

I didn't know that. Perhaps he's renting it for the actual shoot? Why bother with such a pricey product when high-quality results can be had for almost nothing?

A lot of what he does is shot in ultra slow motion. his one is an exception. His video on the Prince Ruperts' Drop and the Archers' Paradox are some of my favorites.,

Yes, the Prince Rupert's Drop video was excellent.
