McEnany challenges media to look in mirror regarding downplaying coronavirus

That was on the 1st of Feb. Trump was tweeting that Coronavirus was nowhere near as bad as the flu on the 9th of March. Which one do you think displays worse judgement, and which one do you think it is that the White House press secretary should be more concerned with retracting?

Oh, piffle.

Retracting a statement would essentially be an admission that Trump was wrong.

That he made a mistake.

That will NEVER happen.

The WaPo has changed it's tune about the flu & Covid. I don't know if they've 'officially' retracted the story comparing the flu to Covid, but they've been publishing repeated stories about the realities of Covid.

Same as all the other "Mainstream Media".

I'm really beginning to think you are a bot.  You are given several examples of the media getting it wrong as well.  Care to address the issue?

Sure.  She asked if VOX would take back their suggestion that it would not be a deadly pandemic.  They already did, over a month ago.  She asked if WaPo wanted to take back the claim that "the flu is bigger than the coronavirus" She left out the end of that headline, which is "for now."  Changes things just a bit, don't you think?  The second WaPo article she references asks if "our brains are causing us to exaggerate the threat of the coronavirus?"  Again she leaves out the conclusion, which is "the disease is new. The fear, however, is not. Both need to be understood, because both are dangerous."  Do you actually disagree with WaPo on that?

And the funniest thing of all - after you post a set of misleading and false claims from the new press secretary, who you apparently really like because of her lies, you complain that someone else is misquoting things:

"Context Marc...context."

You are a perfect Trump supporter; blind to everything except what you are fed.

One side is reporting information from other people.

The other is stating the position of the current Administration.

How the fuck do you not understand the difference?

When WaPo states the flu is a bigger threat than Covid-19 that's not reporting information from other sources.  That's an opinion.  How the fuck do you not understand this?  I'll refrain from the backdoor PA about being stupid.

They admitted they got it wrong.  I'm loving this.  I knew you guys would jump all over someone who throws it back in your face,

A friend told me Coreece call me a narc in here. LMMFAO

Funny, when I was rounded up in a mafia raid in Philly in 1983, my mafia friends were very pleased that I wasn't.

They paid my attorney bill instantly!

Things I learned in Philly in 1983?

Be careful when you become good friends with the bar owner, more so if he's big time mafia related.

Do NOT say ANYTHING once SHTF.

Pay back any mafia favors instantly.

Leave town when your Navy discharge is completed and kindly decline the offer of a job with these friends.

Also be very thankful to not be associated with why they were raided that night and that charges were fully dropped.

Even more thankful NIS understood that I "just happened to be in a bar" that was raided for the actions of others.

Way more thankful it didn't affect my TS/SCI. Whew.

Those Narducci's sure were fun to hang around with.   :halo:

Anywho, thanks for the PA Coreece. It's one of a few reasons I no longer see your childish comments.

This is the difference between a lie and a mistake. trump being born was a mistake. trump telling the world he's a genius is a lie. Got it?

Social isolating must be getting to you. Thanks for your personal efforts to protect others. trump and the WH announced today that trump doesn't need to wear a mask. Because he gets tested every day!. That makes sense to you right?

Not to pile on, but this bit is genuinely perplexing. The quotes you started this thread with and think are just great only work as a "gotcha" by removing the context of when they were written, and that they got their info from the admin. Why is context only relevant when you're defending a press sec statement, but not when she removes it?

Anywho putting all that aside - we now have a large enough sample size to know that absolutely anyone that Trump appoints as press sec is going to lie, lie about those lies, spin everything and anything like a centrifuge, and lie about having done any of these things.

The role has absolutely no integrity or earned trust anymore.

On the plus side, before she became press secretary she was at least a little honest.

McEnany back before she became press secretary:

"Donald Trump has shown himself to be a showman . . .I think it is a sideshow.  It is not welcome rhetoric.  Some of the things we heard in his speech when he said, when Mexico sends people across the border, they're sending criminals and rapists and maybe some good people. Look, the GOP doesn't need to be turning away voters and isolating them. We need to be bringing them into the tent. Donald Trump is the last person who's going to do that.

"I want to make clear, I don't support what Donald Trump said.  I think he said something. . very inappropriate.  So, in that sense, I don't think Donald Trump is consistent with mainstream Republicans."

"That's the problem with Donald Trump is he can't apologize for his own statement. And not apologizing, he's losing credibility on what is a credible issue.. . .Donald Trump, if we're going to be honest, is a progressive. He supports eminent domain. He supported tax increases before. He's donated 300,000 to Democratic candidates. So, the fact that the Republican Party is now having to claim him, is both unfortunate, and to me, inauthentic. Because this is not a true Republican . . .he's being portrayed as such in media is troublesome and not accurate."

So she gushes about how well the White House is doing testing everyone who works there, some of them every single day,

 . . while . . .

also promoting a return to work for the rest of us even though the availability of testing and contact tracing  for the proles is still completely inadequate.

TRY AGAIN.

Media do not create news, they report it. That is their job....

You can’t possibly believe that.

Too much FOX will have you believe that FOX employs journalists. That FOX activism protects, promotes and safeguards the republic.. Is the Praetor for republicans. The brains of trump so to speak.

Are you really trying to say that the directives and information from the White House are less important than what has turned out to be new pieces that were accurate and not misleading for when they were written?  That is even with the exception of VOX, who DID retract that twitter message they made.
