USPS and trump, In bed with Amazon?

The USPS needs a bailout a couple billion. trump has stated that as part of the postal reform that he is overseeing. The post office needs to increase prices fourfold. Current pricing is a sweetheart deal with Amazon. Amazon is specifically using the USPS, playing with them.

If they don't increase prices fourfold they won't get a bailout.

Dunno about that.  In my neighborhood there are Prime delivery vehicles 2 or 3 times daily.

A lot of the deliveries get last mile service from the USPS, even if they come cross country by other means.  Sometimes Prime trucks, sometimes individuals in their beater Honda or whatever.  It used to be only around Christmas that the individuals had the gig jobs, but I've seen that more lately, especially during this stay at home situation.

Same here. Amazon, UPS, FedEx, in that order. USPS is very rare.

I looked at my last 7 Amazon orders (older ones no longer show tracking data).  All were delivered by USPS.

Over the past few years, almost every UPS & Fedex order I received was locally delivered by USPS.

Trump has been trying to bash Amazon (read - Jeff Bezos personally) with the USPS stick for years. In 2018 he said they were 'scamming' the USPS by getting them to deliver packages at a loss. He commissioned a taskforce to investigate and they said it wasn't true.

Funny thing is at that point he only wanted them to double the rates they charge to Amazon and similar companies. Seems a little random to have jumped to quadrupling in the space of two years. Almost like he's pulling numbers out of his ass.

I muffed the title to this thread. i doubt trump has ever shipped anything in his life. IMO USPS is the cheapest US service but has the worst tracking. Of course he is talking out his ass and Bezos is the target.

Judge temporarily blocks Microsoft Pentagon cloud contract after Amazon suit   I hope Bezos wins some damages from above. As trump for certain stuck his orange stupid mug into the equation.
