Fun COVID-19 news

Recommended Posts

On the fun side of things, Ivanka Trump (member of the Coronavirus death panel that Trump set up)  has been very vocal about telling people to stay home.  She recently tweeted "Those lucky enough to be in a position to stay at home, please, please do so!" and sent an inspirational tweet to all the people staying home for Passover: "Tonight we gather for a Passover without precedent.  The group might be smaller, and the answer to 'why is this night different' might be unusual. But all across the world we shall sing our songs of freedom and together celebrate renewal."

Funny story though - she and her family, including Jared Kushner (also on the death panel) traveled over 200 miles to a Trump resort in New Jersey (a state that's currently a Coronavirus hot spot) for Passover.

Also fun (and completely unrelated) fact - Ivanka's company owns a coffin trademark.

As Ivanka recently posted - "We’re all in this together.  We’ll emerge from this stronger than ever before, and maybe more deeply and profoundly connected with our own humanity and our core values.  Let’s do everything we can to stop the spread.”  (Needless to say, she means "everyone else.")

Meanwhile Essential Worker Mike Pence will be traveling to the Air Force Academy to give a speech:

Apparently, no one has yet devised a way to transmit speech remotely.

And I assume the topic of the speech will be how to suck up to mentally ill leaders while avoiding any display of leadership yourself.

Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner and Every Trump Administration Official Accused of Using Personal Email for Work

Every trump clansman knows the rules don't apply to the royal family.

Maybe she and her group are travelling in isolation.

I'm going to be traveling Monday - I'll do it as responsibly as I can.

To a resort.  With other people in it.  For an optional religious event.  That she encouraged other people to not travel for.  In a car that requires gas station stops.  Undoubtedly being driven by a hired driver.

DC has a "shelter in place" order.  The New Jersey governor has pleaded with people to not use vacation homes.  But she doesn't have to listen to any of that, because she's a Trump, and is above the law.

That is offensive to the real Royal Family.

QE2's speech to the nation was so much better than anything Trump has ever said.

Hi John,

Quite like in WW II when her father spoke to their nation.

A lot different than:  'I take no responsibility.'

It's really sad when a figurehead 'leader' shows far, far, faaaaar more actual 'leadership' than the so-called 'leader of the free world.

Worse than the 'I take no responsibility' was when the Mango Mussolini was offered a 'vanilla' question along the lines of 'what would you say to the frightened public' (paraphrased).
Instead of something 'vanilla' and placating (Pence actually did ok with a very similar question), Trump attacked the reporter.

And has Trump ever offered sympathy or expressed condolences to the sick or the families of the dead? At all?
I don't know for sure, but I think he has not.

I remember him saying something like having more respect for soldiers who didn't get caught, I guess he also has more respect for those who don't die?

In the end Trump is all about Trump and he really doesn't care about anything else.

Hi Joe,

It was an NBC News reporter ( Peter Alexander ).  And Trump said that his question was 'nasty.'

You are correct, he has never once offered any sort of condolence to anyone other than himself.
