Gretchen Whitmer

No, we just got her and I'd like to keep her here - and she doesn't need any other distractions right now.  The country will just have to do it's best without her.

Just saw on the news that that there are about 1000 people in cars honking their horns in protest of Whitmer's restrictions stating that they're too strict.

The one guy interviewed was a landscaper that is prohibited from offering service.  He said he can go out and buy a bottle of Jim Beam, but can't go to his lake property.  Some are upset because they feel their businesses require minimal contact, while others are upset they can't go to their cabins up north or go fishing in their boats.  Some want her to be recalled.

Sigh. . .

I don't think the person exists who takes authority and has no one who disagrees with what they do. In the military, and in authoritarian regimes, one isn't allowed to disagree out loud. But here everyone has the right, and, frankly, with the current thought that any goober on the street is as knowledgeable as any expert, of course there's pushback.

And, too, there really are exceptions. The point of rules isn't to hamper the people who don't need them, and can step outside the box. It's to, hopefully, elevate the more antisocial behaviors of the people who need those controls. In doing so, it will hamper some others, but the overall effect is to raise the lowest level.

It's like using tools to program; yeah, brilliant programmers do a better job without them. But, ya know, most of us aren't that brilliant. And most people are grateful they wore their seat belts, and there are fewer and fewer memories of the cousin's brother's father-in-law who survived because they didn't have a seat belt.

I appreciate that view, Wendy.

That was the argument I used to use to defend my opposition to wearing a seat belt.

I was wrong about that then.

Hi airdvr,

And why no 'shame on the' Republicans for never doing it?

A little bias maybe?

Never?

I suppose it was in a movie I saw that had Sarah Palin figuratively being drug across the coals in it.

Its amusing to me how that is forgotten.

After seeing video of Harris questioning witnesses appearing in Senate hearings, I absolutely would like to see her in a debate!

Hi Robert,

As I have posted before; they are not debates, they are shouting matches.

But, damn rights like to see her take on Pence.  Hell, let her take on Pence &

Trump as the same time.

For the record, I believe that Biden's intellectual abilities are far outweighing what the media portrays him to be.

I think he is far smarter, and more capable, than those that will vote for him.  I am sure I will be able to say the same about the running mate he chooses.

Isn't it good to be able to think that the President is smarter than I am?

But I don't think he's smarter than all of the people who will vote for him (which your lack of qualifiers implies); if nothing else, there isn't a single standard for intelligence. Too many facets. It's kind of like being the "most qualified" for a complex job :halo:

Everyone - I just wish they would all admit it and be honest about it.

I admit to being biased.......

. . . . against liars, con-men, frauds, sexual predators, narcissists, ignorami, those who claim valor for dodging STDs, people who hire  criminals, those who promise one thing and do another, and [fill in  blanks].

I agree she would be great in a debate though. So would Senator Klobuchar.
