Because it doesnt directly affect anyone in the US and most people don't care.

So, if I hear you correctly.  Because it doesn't affect anyone in the US, it's not as prudent to be here discussing the environment, and guns, and Q, than it is to discuss people being wrongfully jailed, and reeducated?

Nobody really cares about these divisive issues as much as they care about using them to paint an unflattering picture of the other side.  It's all about using whatever you can to make the left look like a bunch of emotional morons and to make the right look like a bunch of heartless assholes, then you decide which one you hate less and pick a side, much like our elections.

I thought reeducation facilities done away with during the fall of the USSR.

I'm not naive enough to think all of them would be.

We are talking about Millions of people though.

How can this POSSIBLY be put on a back burner?

I'm game.  What do we do?  I was having some thoughts about China on my way into work because of the continuing stories of what's going on in Hong Kong.  A protester was talking about how they hoped this would make the world look more closely at China.  So here we are, looking more closely at China.  The US led the effort to curb what amounted to child slave labor in Asian countries, we can do the same as an effort towards China's human rights issues.

Epoch has been talking about this type of stuff for years, but people just dismiss them because Trump.

Isn't this where the UN is supposed to be held to task?

What? First, I don't know where you got the word prudent from. Second, if you don't think the environment, guns or Q affect anyone in the US then I honestly don't know what to say to you.

Did you read what I was responding to?

They were your words.

You said, "Because it doesnt directly affect anyone in the US and most people don't care."

In response to my question of why it wasn't the most important thing being discussed.

Did you read what you wrote? How in the hell are you so oblivious you don't think guns and the environment affect anyone in the US?

I'll quote myself -

I don't see HOW you are misunderstanding - unless it is intentional.

So, if I hear you correctly.  Because it doesn't affect anyone in the US,  (Meaning the Muslin Reeducation camps) it's not as prudent to be here discussing the environment, and guns, and Q, than it is to discuss people being wrongfully jailed, and reeducated? (Meaning the more important things are taking center stage - like Q, and Guns, and the environment)

I bolded the part that pertains specifically to you, because I was directly responding to you saying that because it didn't affect the US no one cares.

It was a question that was asking for verification.

I also added parenthetical edits to help your grasp.

Oh for fucks sake. Learn to write in English. Here's how you break down what you wrote - "Because it doesn't affect anyone in the US,  (Meaning the Muslin [sic] Reeducation camps)" In this sentence "it" does not mean Muslim reeducation camps, because "it" can be understood by comes next. What comes next is this: "it's not as prudent to be here discussing the environment, and guns, and Q, than it is to discuss people being wrongfully jailed, and reeducated?" You've got that the wrong way around. What you actually wrote has the opposite meaning of what you intended. I misunderstood nothing, and I don't see how YOU don't get that unless it's intentional. Perhaps it's because you're so intent on disagreeing with everything I say that you can't admit any mistake, no matter how blindingly obvious.

To answer the question you should have asked - "So, if I hear you correctly.  Because it doesn't affect anyone in the US, it's not as prudent to be here discussing people being wrongfully jailed, and reeducated, than it is to discuss the environment, and guns, and Q?" then once again no. I didn't say anything about prudence, and I don't know where you got it from.

My question for you is:  how is this news to you?  China has been doing it for decades, whether it is toward religious minorities (or the religious at all), ethnic minorities, or just citizens who voice an opinion against the CCP.  I'm pretty sure it's where North Korea got the idea.

I knew there was bigotry.  I didn't know how far it went.

You want to really see the way of the future, look up what they are doing with a "social score".

Absolutely brilliant and absolutely terrifying.

Someone needs to explain to them that "Black Mirror" is not a How-To guide for autocracies.
