Now the Russians are claiming to have a say in which transcripts can be released to Congress. For clarification: Our Congress.

“Of course their publication is to some extent only possible by mutual agreement of the parties. This is a certain diplomatic practice,” said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. “Diplomatic practice in general does not envisage their publication. If there are some signals from the Americans, then we will discuss [them].”

Well, it is a 'common diplomatic practice' to keep confidential conversations confidential. Both within and between countries.

But there are exceptions. Like when one of the parties in the conversation is under criminal investigation. And when the conversations are going to be released to the investigating parties.

Of course, this gives Trump an excuse to fight the release. Not that he wouldn't have anyway.
Gonna guess that Putin has enough on Trump to make him fight pretty hard.

One can only imagine what the dipshit blurted out on a call with Putin or whomever that has the Russians claiming diplomatic privilege this early in the game. It must be good.

Well, given that there are strong indications that Trump has been laundering money for the Russian mob for years, and the fact that the Russian mob operates with Putin's permission and blessing, I doubt it was what 'the dipshit blurted out'.

The Russians are too smart to talk crime on a telephone Trump, obviously, is not.
