Trump goes after endangered species

Today the administration announced a new attack on the Endangered Species Act.  Changes include:

-requiring a species to be endangered (not just threatened) before anything can be done to protect it

-preventing long term planning for habitat protection

-allowing endangered species protections to be cancelled due to "economic impact" (i.e. someone just discovered oil right under that proposed bald eagle preserve, so it's not a preserve any more!  Suck on that, eagles!)

I'm surprised it took this long, honestly.  Fossil fuel lobbyist (and now secretary of the interior) David Bernhardt announced it today.

Next up: indicator species like spotted owls and marbled murrelets. Sorry Charlie, weird birds cost less than trees. Let's run that road along that river and get 'er done! Salmon? Fuck 'em.
