jclalor 12 #1 Posted May 16, 2019 The first half of Trump’s presidency could be child’s play compared to what could happen in the second half if we attack Iran.
ryoder 1,590 #2 May 16, 2019 Yes, going to war was such a smashing success in Afghanistan, Iraq, & Libya. So let's do it again, and hope for a different result.

I guess people got bored waiting for the nuclear war with NK that we were supposed to have. Now it's Iran.

During the Obama presidency Trump tweeted that Obama would go to war with Iran to extend his presidency. Considering the sheer amount of tweets that have been nothing but projecting, I consider that the be the strongest indicator for a war with Iran. I could never read the compartment labels on the Ayatollah class destroyers anyway. Until after the threat upgrade to them anyway. I hope they're happy in China. One that, by all reports, was working well and that the Iranians were holding to. Once somebody cancelled it, the Iranians were free to do as they wished. It was the result of a series of stupid decisions combined with ignorance and stubbornness. Rather like what's happening in the White House at this time. The purpose of the war was to go after Al Qaeda specifically, not Afghanistan in general. Al Qaeda was still carrying out co-ordinated international terrorist attacks for years afterwards. Bin Laden wasn't killed until 2011. Unless you redefine the purpose of the war, its objectives were nowhere near complete in 2003. Quote The only wars we should consider is those in which we go; stay there until we beat the shit out of them; then exit. Then you should never have gone into Afghanistan, because doing that would not have achieved anything usefull from a US self interest point of view. Quote In/destroy/exit/done.
