The centre is shifting ground. You may not actually be moving toward it. It may be moving toward you. In other words your values don't really have to change you just need to see society has been dragged in a direction you don't approve of while you weren't looking.Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Reagan, with his illegal immigrant amnesty programs, pro-welfare and pro-universal-healthcare views, would today be seen as a centrist if not a liberal.
