Park Avenue: money, power and the American dream - Why Poverty?

I just started it to see what it was about.
As soon as I heard Alex Gibney's voice, I put it on my "To Watch" list.

It's hard for me to sit down and watch a film that lasts an hour. But I've got it open in a window and will watch it in pieces because if it has had that kind of effect on you I'm intrigued.

Watched this doc yesterday. My views are beginning to change...rapidly.

I'm surprised to see you post something like this. Is this renascence of thinking due to this documentary's exposure of the issues or a combination of sources?

Poor at 20, Poor for Life
A new study indicates that from the 1980s to the 2000s, it became less likely that a worker could move up the income ladder.

While I'm still considering myself as a conservative in reality I'm moving more towards the center. As I get older I see things with a bit more clarity.

The centre is shifting ground. You may not actually be moving toward it. It may be moving toward you. In other words your values don't really have to change you just need to see society has been dragged in a direction you don't approve of while you weren't looking.

No I'm definitely changing my views on this subject. I've watched DC sell out the middle class for far too long.

Perhaps. The country as a whole is certainly moving further right. Reagan, with his illegal immigrant amnesty programs, pro-welfare and pro-universal-healthcare views, would today be seen as a centrist if not a liberal.
