Anyone taking the full responsibilities and duties of the AG needs to be confirmed by the Senate.

This guy is just 'acting' AG.

There are things that need to be done, decisions made, ect.

Someone has to fill the spot, even on a temporary basis.

If the reports are correct, this guy should have to recuse himself from the Russia/Mueller investigation.

I was both surprised and impressed at the level of integrity Sessions showed.

I was mostly expecting him to be a Trump lackey, just like the rest of the cabinet.

He didn't appear to take advantage of his position (Carsons and Pruitt), ignore the law when it didn't fit his agenda (Flynn), or ignore reality to support the Mango Mussolini (everyone).

Once this became apparent, it was clear his days were numbered. Kind of a shame the Ds didn't take the Senate.

I think it's because the first thing he learned is that Trump will throw his own people under the bus when he's tired of them and he doesn't care that he'll ruin someone's career in the process. Could you imagine if Sessions HAD cut some corner's on Trump's behalf? He could be disbarred and shunned from the legal profession and there goes that cushy twilight career as a board member to some legal group. The irony is on all of us that despite our fears Sessions actually had to behave.

I would also add that with Trump, the narrative has to be about him. I've always believed that as soon as the media starts talking about something other than him, he throws a spanner in the works and say something to provoke front page news. After all, it is free advertising for his re-election campaign.

The gains the Dems had made in the house meant, he wasn't front page news any more. Thus whilst I think him dropping Sessions most definitely was always in the pipeline, doing it so soon after the midterms meant that suddenly throws the focus of the media was back on Trump and so moves the spotlight away from the newly elected members of congress who had battled to achieve the successes of Tuesday night.
