What can they be hiding?

It depends how much she likes being first lady.

Eminently possible she sticks it out for his term and divorces after, then writes books for 7 figure sums.

She'll definitely stick it out with him, again, she has class and money and her priority is her son. I'll say that within a maximum of two years she'l drop his ass.

Question is will a divorce in the White House even mean anything?

Well, what if they get divorced and she gets the House?:o

And how is this supposed scandal supposed to be different/worse from Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky or his other exploits? Is it supposed to make anyone feel better about Hillary Clinton as an alternative?

Clinton lost. Get over her. Why are you going on about her so much?

GoFundMe will easily cover that. There have to be millions of potential donors who want to hear the story.

It isn't about the $20 million. Federal court means Trump can pardon.

This is a civil case, not a criminal case.
I don't see how a pardon could even be involved.
But I can see how it would be easier for the WH to lean on the judges.

A civil case about a crime, the payment of money to cover up a crime, the forming of an LLC to cover up a crime or a lawyer committing crimes.

The lawsuit seeks only clarification about the hush agreement's applicability. I would expect any crimes discovered after Daniels releases pictures, texts, etc. to be prosecutable at the state level, assuming they were crimes in the states in which they took place.

Daniels, or at least her lawyer, seem to be a few steps ahead of everyone else so far. How everything plays out in courts will determine how, not if, evidence of the relationship is released to the public and media.

One wonders what they might be covering up, since it is pretty obvious to all that there was an adulterous affair.

If there is evidence of adultery in a state where it remains illegal, then the hush agreement itself would have been criminal. And then there is the question of how the payment may have been made.

I'm wondering if, should it be necessary, Mueller could offer criminal and civil immunity to Daniels in exchange for evidence and testimony.

Give [the Opening Arguments podcast] a listen for a pretty decent and easy to follow explanation of what is at stake.

The next two episodes, E155 and E156, provide additional information. The podcast seems to offer reasonably objective analysis of current legal events.

LOL No. I know you were joking. She'd take the penthouse in NYC with all the gold walls toilet and shit in there. Trump would probably keep Mara Lago.

A few more developments in the Stormy Daniels vs Trump case:

==================
Stormy Daniels polygraph report released
By Jake Tapper and MJ Lee, CNN

Updated 4:07 PM ET, Tue March 20, 2018

Washington (CNN)Stormy Daniels was "truthful about having unprotected vaginal intercourse with Donald Trump in July 2006," according to a polygraph test report from 2011.

The report states that the "probability of deception was measured to be less than 1%." It was given to CNN by Michael Avenatti, Daniels' attorney and contains three pertinent questions: "Around July 2006, did you have vaginal intercourse with Donald Trump?," "Around July 2006, did you have unprotected sex with Donald Trump?" and "Did Trump say you would get on 'The Apprentice?'"

Daniels replied yes to all three questions. The first two were analyzed to be truthful, the third question was "inconclusive" according to the polygraph examiner Ronald Slay.

And other women are coming forward:

Former Playboy model who alleges affair with Trump sues company that didn't publish her story

By Eli Watkins, CNN

Updated 4:38 PM ET, Tue March 20, 2018

Washington (CNN) - A former Playboy model who allegedly had a 10-month affair with President Donald Trump is suing the company that kept her original account from publication.

Karen McDougal is suing to be released from an agreement mandating her silence.
McDougal is the latest woman to take legal action over an agreement restricting her from speaking out about an alleged relationship with the President prior to his time in government.

The White House has said Trump denies the affair. . . .

The Times report said McDougal's suit claims Cohen was "secretly involved" in her talks with American Media Inc., and outlines a number of similarities between the two. Both alleged affairs started in 2006, and both women originally shared the same attorney, Keith Davidson of Los Angeles.

***>Trump and his lawyers are in legal trouble, not for his dalliances with a silicone MILF,
>but for violations of campaign finance law.

In addition, by suing Buzzfeed for libel over a wide range of topics, they have managed to link the Russian investigation to the Stormy Daniels matter. And that will likely result in closer investigation of both issues.

I wonder if the Mango Mussolini ever regrets his hubris at running for the presidency? Had he remained a private citizen his wealth could have allowed him to mock the law forever. As president, all (or much) of his dirty laundry is bound to come out. Certainly it's true that he would have been best off had he simply lost; he could have cashed in on being the aggrieved victim of a rigged system while keeping all his dirt under the rug.

Don

When he announced himself as an actual candidate I honestly thought it would bankrupt him without his getting anywhere near the White House. I don't mean the election expenses but all of the lost contracts and stuff. It will be interesting to see how this affects his bottom line once it's over in 2 or 6 years.

One of the funniest things the White House has said about Trump so far:

When asked about why Trump is not responding to the multiple allegations against him by women who had affairs with him, Sanders said Trump didn't have time to respond to every allegation - "he also has a country to run."

So:

Attacking "Alex" Baldwin for lampooning him - running the country

Attacking Oprah for asking uncomfortable questions about him - running the country

Attacking Rosie O'Donnell because she's "rude" and "dumb" - running the country

Attacking Kristen Stewart (four times!) for cheating on her boyfriend - running the country

Attacking the entire cast of the play "Hamilton", Beyonce, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bette Midler and Russel Brand - running the country.

So it's important for Trump to attack Kristen Stewart (played Bella in Twilight) over and over for cheating on her boyfriend, because he has to run the country. But when Trump cheats on his wife with a porn star - well, he's just too busy running the country to respond!

Does the allegedly invalid hush agreement also require him to remain quiet about the affair? I seem to recall it did, based on a Tweeted analysis posted by ryoder up thread. I'm not certain, though (both in the sense of remembering correctly and trusting a single attorney from the Internet to be correct).

If it does, it would be difficult to claim the agreement is valid and collect damages if he comments. And now he has to be careful about implying that Daniels is lying, too. So he just can't comment.

I can't help but wonder the prenup says and what Melania is thinking about all of this. Between Mueller and Daniels, Trump is fighting a war on two fronts. A future ex-wife could easily make it three.

I think that ship may have sailed with his personal lawyer commenting on the agreement.
